Thermal aging behaviors of the waste tire rubber used in bitumen modification

چکیده
Considering the application scenarios of rubber granules from waste tires in bitumen modification process (wet or dry process), both aerobic and anaerobic aging may occur. The current study aims to investigate thermal behavior tire samples using nanoindentation environment scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) tests. Both tests with different durations were conducted on samples. complex moduli aged measured by surface morphology elemental composition obtained ESEM together energy dispersive X-ray analysis. Results have shown that for aging, equilibrium modulus derived curve first increases then decreases time. However, time needed aerobically sample reach maximum is shorter than case. Aging results crack propagation an increase sulfur content until it reaches peak. degree crosslinking reflected higher aging. morphological change correlate well mechanical properties. truck at 180°C can generally be separated into two stages: dominant stage chain scission stage.

Rubber Oxidation and Tire Aging - a Review
While a new tire may have excellent resistance to crack initiation and propagation between the steel belts, an aged tire of the exact same construction can exhibit dramatically reduced crack growth resistance, which in some cases may contribute to tire failure. This article will review the research that has gone into quantifying the rate of oxidation the steel belt rubber oxidizes in different ...
متن کاملA Study on the Effects of Waste Rubber Tire Dimensions on Fine-Grained Soil Behavior
Mashhad city is located on alluvial deposits where the expanded area of this city, especially the central and eastern areas surrounding Imam Reza holy shrine, are built on weak and fine-grained deposits. Therefore, the soil improvement would be inevitable due to construction of high-rise buildings such as hotels and commercial complexes in these areas, as well as restructuring old buildin...
متن کاملAn Experimental Study on Effect of Waste Tire Rubber on the Fresh and Hardened Behavior of Self-compacting Concrete
The development of environmentally accepted methods of used tire disposal is one of the greatest challenges that waste management experts face today. Use of waste rubber particles as aggregate in self-compacting concrete is a suitable solution for the environmental hazards of waste tires being produced on a large scale. The aim of this work is to investigate the influence of the size of waste r...
متن کاملMechanochemical Recycling and Processing of Waste Crosslinked Polymers: Waste Tire Rubber and Waste Xlpe from Cable Scraps
The accumulation and disposal of polymer wastes including waste plastics, waste rubber, waste synthetic fibers and waste composites is a worldwide concern. Until now, there are many technical barriers in recycling polymer wastes with crosslinked structure, such as vulcanized rubber, crosslinked polyolefine and other thermoset materials. In this study, a mechanochemical approach was used to cond...
متن کاملRubber friction and tire dynamics.
We propose a simple rubber friction law, which can be used, for example, in models of tire (and vehicle) dynamics. The friction law is tested by comparing numerical results to the full rubber friction theory (Persson 2006 J. Phys.: Condens. Matter 18 7789). Good agreement is found between the two theories. We describe a two-dimensional (2D) tire model which combines the rubber friction model wi...
